Planning your winter
The feeding season is about 15 weeks
Vermont Fish and Wildlife asks people to wait until December to put feeders up, and to take them down by mid-March when bears wake up. The bundles below are sized for that window.
Your seed arrives early
Pickup is the week of November 15, before feeders go up. Store seed in a closed building, in metal cans with tight lids, so mice and bears can't get to it.
Use is hard to predict
How fast seed disappears depends on your feeders, squirrels, cold snaps and which birds show up. The weekly figures below are rough estimates. If you run out, come back in for more.
